My 2 Truths + A Lie

  1. I’ve read The Infernal Devices, The Mortal Instruments, and The Dark Artifices, but none of the short story collections.
  2. With exactly one exception, I’ve read every book that was assigned for class, without resorting to summaries or SparkNotes.
  3. My favorite classic novel is Jane Eyre.
THE LIE IS… #1! Middle school/early high school was my Shadowhunters phase, and while I’ve reread TMI and TID a few times each, as well as The Bane Chronicles, once the show came out I was a little burned out on the fandom so I haven’t read TDA or the newer short stories. On the other hand, I’ve never resorted to SparkNotes, even for Shakespeare, but I skimmed Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck.

Did you guess the lie? Let me know!

    1. haha I was hoping “with exactly one exception” wouldn’t give it away! and no, I’m definitely not a great student in a lot of ways (and I’ve definitely been tempted to skim or SparkNotes several other required reads!) but I could never pass up the chance to show off my original insights in class, because I was (and still am!) a huge know-it-all πŸ˜…

    1. πŸŽ‰ and YES grapes of wrath was terrible!!! my teacher actually wrote up her own chapter summaries based on what we needed to know, and even made a list of chapters we could skip πŸ˜‚ I have a feeling she wouldn’t have included it if it wasn’t in the department-wide curriculum.
